S.T.A.R.S., or Students Through Arts
Reaching Success, is a project sponsored by
the Nottingham PTA, Houston Grand Opera, and local corporations. Musical
artists from various countries and diverse cultural backgrounds share a
teaching session with each classroom followed by a musical performance.
Units that have been presented in the past include African,
African-American, Asian, Latin American, Mexican, Western European, and
Hispanic musical experiences. We've even learned how to write an opera!
We are very fortunate to be able to offer this enrichment opportunity to
all our students. Parent support of our PTA helps to make this possible!
