Welcome to Nottingham
Elementary! My name is Frederick Larry, Jr., and I have been privileged
to be the principal here at Nottingham
since the fall of 1996.
I began my career in public school education in 1974. Upon
graduation from St. John's
University,
Collegeville,
Minnesota,
my first teaching assignment was at the middle school level. Since that
time I have taught at both the elementary and secondary level in the
states of Illinois
and Texas.
During my teaching career, I obtained a Master's Degree in Urban
Education from Governor's State
University,
Park
Forest, Illinois,
and a Master's of Education Degree from Texas Southern University,
Houston,
Texas.
I began my employment with Spring
Branch
Independent
School
District in the fall of 1988,
working as a fourth-grade classroom teacher until the spring of 1993 when
I was promoted to the position of assistant principal at Housman Elementary
in SBISD. I remained in that position until the spring of 1996 at which
time I moved into my current position here at Nottingham.
Nottingham Elementary is a "Learner-Centered"
environment, consisting of approximately 500 students kindergarten
through grade five. In addition to a very dedicated and committed staff,
we have the support of a very active PTA. It is our mutual goal to assist
each student's development into a successful, healthy, self-motivated learner.
As you explore our web site you will read about the many exciting
programs that we offer, including our major campus curriculum initiatives
that are part of our five year plan.
